Margot Lee Shetterly is an American non-fiction writer who has also worked in investment banks and media startups. Her first book, Hidden Numbers: Stories of African-American Women who Help Win the Space Race, mentioned African-American female mathematicians working at NASA, but people who have contributed to the success of the US space program. She sold the rights to the film while working on the book, and it was adapted into the feature film of the same name, Hidden Figures.
