María Elena Salinas is an American journalist, news anchor and author. Dubbed the "Voice of Hispanic America" by the New York Times, Salinas is one of the most recognized Hispanic female journalists in the United States. She is a co-host of Noticiero Univision, the main evening news program on Univision, and co-host of the news magazine Aquí y Ahora. Salinas has worked for more than three decades in the United States and in 18 Latin American countries. She has interviewed Latin American heads of state, rebel leaders, dictators and every American president since Jimmy Carter.
