Maritza Correia, also known as Maritza McClendon, is a former Olympic swimmer from the United States. When she qualified for the United States Olympic Team in 2004, she became the first African-Puerto Rican to join the United States Olympic Swimming Team. She also became the first black American swimmer to set swimming records in the United States and around the world.
