In October of 2011, he became one of three full-time guitarists for the American progressive metal band Periphery.

Periphery is an American progressive metal band formed in Washington, D.C., in 2005. Their style of music is described as progressive metal, djent, and progressive metalcore. They are considered one of the pioneers of the progressive metal djent movement. They also received a Grammy Award nomination. The group included vocalist Spencer Sotelo, guitarist Misha Mansoor, Mark Holcomb, Jake Bowen and drummer Matt Halpern. Since their debut under the same name, the band has released 5 other albums: Periphery II: This Time It's Personal, Juggernaut duo album Juggernaut: Alpha and Omega, Periphery III: Select Difficulty and Periphery IV: Hail Stan. They also released two EPs: Icarus EP and Clear. All of Periphery's materials are produced by team members.
