About Mark McMorris
In 2012 and 2013, he won back-to-back gold medals in the slopestyle event at the X-Games. Despite being in a medically induced coma for 11 months following a snowboarding accident, he won a bronze medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics.
Mark Lee McMorris is a Canadian professional snowboarder, specializing in big aerial events and sloppy style. During the video recording of Transworld Snowboarding "Park Sessions" in March 2011, Mark became the first person to land Backside Triple Cork 1440. Most recently, on April 28, 2018, Mark landed Double Cork head. First in the world on a rails, Front-Board Double Cork 1170 with melancholy clip. Mark has also made his mark on X-Games and other events. In two years 2012 and 2013, Mark has continuously won the gold medal at Winter Games X in the skateboarding event. He competed in the skateboarding event at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, where he won a bronze, Canada's first medal at that Olympics. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, he won a bronze medal in skateboarding, just 11 months after a skate accident with a nearly fatal internal injury. He has also appeared in numerous videos for Transworld Snowboarding, Burton, Redbull, CBC and Shredbots.
