Mark Scheifele is a Canadian professional hockey center and replacement captain of the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League. He was selected by the Jets in the first round, seventh final, of NHL Draft 2011, the teams' first choice in the draft after moving from Atlanta. Scheifele grew up playing ice hockey in his hometown of Kitchener, Ontario, playing for the Kitchener Jr. Rangers program in the Alliance Flag League. After his small season in 2008-09, Scheifele was introduced by Saginaw Spirit of the Ontario Hockey Federation in the seventh round of the 2009 OHL Preference. His rights were then traded for the Barrie Colts and was drafted for the seventh time by the Winnipeg Jets. Scheifele played his first full NHL campaign in the 2013-14 season. During his tenure with the Jets, Scheifele helped lead the team offensively and served as a leader in the locker room.
