Marlee Beth Matlin is an American actress, writer and hard of hearing. She won the Oscar for Best Actress for Children of a Lesser God and is so far the only deaf artist to win an Oscar. Winning the award at the age of 21, she is also the youngest winner in this category. His work in film and television earned him the Golden Globe Award, along with two additional nominations and four Emmy nominations. Deaf at the age of 18 months, due to illness and high fevers, she is also a representative member of the National Association of Deaf People. His longtime performer is Jack Jason.
