Boxer from India known as"Magnificent Mary" is a five-time World Amateur Boxing Champion as well as a four-time Asian Women's Boxing Champion. In 2010, she got the Sahara Sports Award for Sportswoman of the Year.
Mangte Chungneijang Mary Kom is a boxer, politician and a full member of the Rajya Sabha Parliament. She is the only woman to become a six-time world record-breaking amateur boxing champion, is the only female boxer to ever win a medal in her first seven world championships and the only female fighter. Most won eight world championship medals. With the nickname Magnificent Mary, she is the only Indian boxer to qualify for the 2012 Summer Olympics, competing in the fly category and winning a bronze medal. She was also ranked No. 1 by the International Boxing Association in the women's lightfly class in the world. She became the first female Indian boxer to win a gold medal at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea, and the first female Indian boxer to win a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games. 2018.
