Massimo Corey Luongo is an Australian professional footballer who plays in midfield for Sheffield Wednesday Championship club and the Australian national team. Born in Sydney, Luongo played youth football for APIA Leichhardt Tigers before moving to England to play for Tottenham Hotspur, where he began his professional career. After loaning out at Ipswich Town, he plays on loan at Swindon Town, a last move made permanently. He joined current club Sheffield on Wednesday 2019. Luongo has played for the Australian national team since 2014 and has made 34 appearances. He was a member of the team at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and played a key role in helping Australia win the 2015 AFC Asian Cup, where he scored in the final and was named the player of the tournament.
