Matthew James Sutherland Dawson, MBE is a retired British rugby player who played in the first half for Northampton Saints and then London Wasps. During his international career, he toured three times with the British and Irish Lion and was part of the 2003 Rugby World Championship team in England. He has won a total of 77 international caps, of which nine were captain and most played for England until he surpassed Danny Care. Dawson is best known for his mark as a "sniper" and plays a good whistle, often scoring in the "touch and go" free kicks. When summoned, he is also able to show his versatility by scoring goals. Since his retirement, Dawson has become the captain of A Question of Sport in addition to appearing on various reality shows and a commentator and presenter on the BBC Radio 5 rugby program. Live.
