Matthew Edward Harvey, often referred to as The Dark Knight, is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles of Major League Baseball. Previously, he played for the New York Mets, Cincinnati Reds, Los Angeles Angels and Kansas City Royals. Harvey has played at Fitch Senior High School in Groton, Connecticut and the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. The Mets chose Harvey in the MLB Draft 2010 as the seventh overall pick. In his grand tournament debut on July 26, 2012, against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Harvey set a new club record with 11 goals while securing his first career victory. Harvey had a breakout season in 2013, when he was selected to play in the All-Star Baseball League. Harvey then missed the entire 2014 season due to Tommy John surgery, but came back in 2015 when his team won the pennant.
