Maurice Richard Povich is an American television personality best known for his role as the host of the tabloid Maury. Povich started his career as a radio reporter, initially at WWDC. In the late 1980s, he gained national fame as the host of the tabloid entertainment television show A Current Affair, based on Fox's main WNYW station. In 1991, he co-produced his own show The Maury Povich Show, renamed in 1998 Maury.
