Maryam Tanveer Ali, known by her stage name Maya Ali is a Pakistani actress. Best known for her roles in big-budget TV series and movies, Ali was named one of the nation's most beloved actresses and received a Lux Style award out of four nominations. Ali started her career as a horse racer, in 2012 she appeared in several TV shows for Samaa and Dunya. She made her debut with a short role in the telenovela Durr-e-Shehwar and received accolades for playing the main characters in the dramas Aik Nayee Cinderella and Aun Zara. After playing the role of a rebellious wife in the horror film Zid, Ali received critical reviews for her role as Zuleikha in the romantic film Mera Naam Yousuf Hai, Faarah Wali Khan in the Diyar-e family film gathering -Dil and a loving girl with a tragic Mann Mayal love affair. Her performance in two of them earned her a Lux Style Award nomination for Best Television Actress, winning her second prize.
