Merel Bechtold is a guitarist from the Netherlands. She was born in Blaricum. She started playing guitar in 2007 at the age of 15. Six months later, she formed the group Purest of Pain, in which she played the main guitar until it disbanded in 2020. Over the next two years, she began performing in many important international events and festivals. with groups like Suicide Silence, Unearth, MaYaN, Grave, Tous Periront, Delain and others. In 2013, she released the single Momentum and in 2014 she performed at the big metal festival Wacken Open Air.
