Meryem Sarah Uzerli is a German-Turkish actress and model who rose to prominence for her role as Hürrem Sultan in the Turkish TV series Muhteşem Yüzyıl, which she received praise from around the world. Uzerli was born and raised in Kassel, Germany. She made her debut with minor roles in German productions. Later, she appeared small in the television series Notruf Hafenkante and Ein Fall für zwei. Uzerli is also known for his roles in German films such as The Journey of No Return and Jetzt aber Ballett. At the end of 2010, she was chosen by Meral Okay for her first leading role in the Turkish television series Muhteşem Yüzyıl. In addition to his acting career, Uzerli has also appeared in numerous commercial films and is the face of a series of brands. In 2012, she was voted the Woman of the Year by GQ Turkey.
