Mireia Belmonte García is an Olympic, World and Europe champion swimmer from Spain. She was the first Olympic champion in Spanish swimming history and is widely regarded as the greatest Spanish swimmer of all time. At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, she became the Olympic champion in the 200 meter butterfly event and also won the bronze medal in the individual 400 meter event. Before that, she competed at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, where she made her debut at the age of 17, and in London 2012, where she won two silver medals; at 200 meters butterfly with a time of 2: 05,25 and at a free time of 800 meters with a time of 8: 18.76, raising the national record by four seconds.
