Mirko Filipović, known as Cro Cop, is a retired professional mixed boxer, kickboxer and amateur boxer from Croatia. He is best known for his time in the Pride Fighting Championship. Cro Cop has fought at UFC, K-1, RIZIN and Bellator. He is considered by many to be one of the greatest Kickboxers and heavyweight MMA fighters of all time. Cro Cop is the 2006 Pride Openweight Grand Prix Champion, 2012 K-1 World Grand Prix Champion, and 2016 Rizin Openweight Grand Prix Champion, becoming the second fighter in the world to win the Championship and Tournament Martial Arts synthetic and kickboxing. He is also a former IGF champion. His nickname, Cro Cop, short for “Croatia Cop”, comes from his work in the Lučko Counterterrorism Unit, the elite tactical special forces unit of the Croatian police. Cro Cop's signature move is his super-fast left circular kick, once described as “right foot, hospital; left foot, cemetery ”.
