About Miyavi
In addition to being a member of the Japanese rock band S.K.I.N., he has achieved solo success. He is also a philanthropist who began touring refugee camps with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in 2013.
Takamasa Ishihara, known by his stage name Miyavi, is a Japanese guitarist, singer-songwriter, record producer and actor known for his finger-guitar style. He has been active since 1999, first as the guitarist of the now defunct visual kei rock group Dué le quartz, then as a solo artist from 2002. In 2007, he became a member of the super rock group SKIN and in 2009 created his own company, J-glam. He has toured the world several times, with over 250 concerts in 30 countries in 2015. In 2016, he released 10 solo albums and 27 singles. In 2014, Miyavi appeared in the film Unbroken directed by Angelina Jolie and went on to play smaller roles in American productions such as Kong: Skull Island and Stray. Since 2013, Miyavi has volunteered with UNHCR, visiting refugee camps around the world. In November 2017, he was appointed official goodwill ambassador.
