World leader who is most known for being the president of South Korea. He was also a member of the 19th National Assembly from 2012-2016 and served as the leader of the Minjoo Party of Korea.
Mr. Moon Jae-in is the current President of South Korea, took office in 2017. He served as Chief of Staff for the President then Roh Moo-hyun, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea and a member of the National Assembly. 19. Born from North Korean refugees, Moon grew up poor in the southern port city of Busan. Moon studied very well and studied law at Kyung Hee University. He took part in human rights activities and was later jailed for organizing a protest against the Yushin Constitution. Due to his career in human rights law, Moon was selected as the campaign manager for his longtime mentor Roh Moo-hyun during his 2002 presidential election and served in the administration of me with many different official positions. In 2012, Moon was a candidate for the United Democratic Party in the 2012 presidential election in which he nearly lost to Park Geun-hye; Park was aided in this election by security services.
