Mr. Duong's follow-up work on the Rainy Mountain blends folklore and memory. Momaday was awarded the National Medal of the Arts in 2007 because her work is honored and preserved in local artistic and oral traditions. He holds 20 honorary degrees from colleges and universities and is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
