Naheed Kurban Nenshi, born February 2, 1972, is a Pakistani-Canadian politician who is the 36th mayor of Calgary, Alberta. He was elected in the 2010 municipal elections with 39% of the vote and was the first Muslim mayor of a major city in North America. He was re-elected in 2013 with 74% of the votes. He was re-elected in 2017 for a third term with 51% of the vote. On April 6, 2021, Nenshi announced that he would not be running after three terms as mayor of Calgary.
