Nathan Thomas Schmidt is an American professional hockey player for the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League. Previously, he played for the Washington Capitals and the Vegas Golden Knights. As an untrained player, Schmidt signed with the Capitals in 2013 after playing for the University of Minnesota. It was announced by the Golden Knights Open in 2017 and as part of the Golden Knights' new inaugural season which saw them become the first expansion team in the NHL to advance to the finals.
