Nathan Ghar-jun Adrian is an American competitive swimmer and five-time Olympic gold medalist, who once held the American record in the long-range 50-meter freestyle. During his Olympic debut at the 2008 Summer Olympics, Adrian swam hotly in a free 4 × 100 meter relay and won a gold medal as the United States won the final. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, Adrian won the gold medal in the 100-meter freestyle and the 4 × 100 meter relay, as well as the silver in the 4 × 100 free relay. He has won thirty-two medals in major international competitions; twenty gold, seven silver and five bronze in competitions such as the Summer Olympics, the FINA World Underwater Championship and the Pacific Swimming Championships. In the 4x100-meter freestyle relay at the 2016 Summer Olympics, Michael Phelps, Caeleb Dressel and Ryan Held won gold. He is the individual bronze medalist in the 50-meter and 100-meter freestyle.
