Nathan Walker is an Australian professional ice hockey player of Welsh origin who currently plays for the St. Louis Blues team of the National Hockey League. Walker, who was born in Wales, grew up in Australia and first played ice hockey there. He moved to the Czech Republic in 2007 to further his career and joined the junior program of HC Vitkovice, member of the Czech Extraliga. He first played for the senior team in 2011, becoming the first Australian ice hockey player to play for a senior professional team in Europe. Along with HC Vitkovice, Walker has been on loan to a number of lower-tier Czech clubs. In 2013, Walker signed with the Youngstown Phantoms of the United States Junior Hockey League, then moved to North America for the first time. He attended the Washington Capitals training camp in 2013 and signed with AHL Hershey, their affiliate.
