Gabriele Susanne Kerner, also known as Nena, was a German singer and songwriter who became internationally famous in 1983 as the lead vocalist of the group Nena with the song Neue Deutsche Welle "99 Luftballons. ". The same year, the band re-recorded the song in English as "99 Red Balloons". Nena's re-recording of some of the band's old hit songs as a solo artist, produced by most of them co-composers, former colleagues in the band Nena and keyboardist Uwe Fahrenkrog -Petersen, who restarted her solo career in 2002. Combined with the success of the group Nena's years, she has sold over 25 million records, making her a successful German pop singer most in history rankings.
