Walk the Moon is an American rock band based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Lead singer Nicholas Petricca started the group in 2006 while a student at Kenyon College, taking the group's name from the police song "Walking on the Moon". The group has independently released their debut studio album, I Want! I wish!, In November 2010, to receive the broadcast of the song "Anna Sun" on some radio station instead. With the success of "Anna Sun", Alt Nation named them the band you must know in the summer of 2012. Influential music blog Neon Gold helped break the band apart in January 2011, calling out 'Anna Sun', 'where A&R's British dreams and big label auction battles were fulfilled'. In February 2011, Walk the Moon signed with RCA Records and in June 2012 released their first major studio album, Walk the Moon. The album includes a re-recorded version of "Anna Sun". In December 2014, the band released their second studio album, Talking Is Hard.
