He gained to notoriety as the bassist for the glam metal band Stala & SO, but he is best recognized for his work with the rock band Lordi. His stage names are Nick Gore and Kalma, and he was born Niko Hurme.
Niko Hurme, stage name Nick Gore, is a Finnish bassist from the glam metal band Stala & so. He was the bassist for Finland's hard rock band Lordi from 2002 to 2005, under the stage name Kalma. He played on The Monsterican Dream and The Arockalypse albums but was replaced by former OX bassist after leaving the group for personal reasons. Kalma is known as the "motorcycle zombie". Kalma wrote the only credits of a single Lordi song: `` Kalmageddon, '' which he co-wrote with Mr. Lordi. The song is the last track from The Monsterican Dream. Kalma played all bass guitars and performed a few backing vocals in The Arockalypse but hasn't been on the album cover since leaving the band prior to its release. His replacement, OX, was introduced instead. In contrast, Kalma appeared on the cover of Lordi's debut album, Get Heavy, although he didn't play a single note on the record where the entire bass was recorded by his predecessor, Magnum.
