Nicholas Boone Symmonds is a retired average American long distance runner from Boise, Idaho, who runs 800 yards and 1,500 yards. Symmonds signed with Brooks Running in January 2014 after seven years of sponsorship with Nike. While in college at Willamette University, he won seven NCAA Division III titles on the open air racetrack. Symmonds is the 6-time US national champion in the 800 meters. He competed in the 800m at both Olympic Games, reached the semi-finals in Beijing 2008, while in London 2012 he finished fifth, behind David Rudisha 95's world record of 1:42. He won a silver medal in the 800 meters at the 2013 World Championships, having placed sixth in the 2009 final and fifth in 2011.
