Nicklas Bäckström is a Swedish professional ice hockey center and is the alternate captain of the Washington Capital of the National Hockey Federation. Bäckström was selected fourth overall by Capitals in the Draft NHL 2006. Bäckström is known for his superb ball game, making him one of the tournament's top assistants. Since 2013-14, Bäckström has started a six-season streak with 50 assists, being one of 26 players to ever achieve this feat. Since then, he's been the all-time franchise leader in Washington in terms of support capacity, and comes second in the all-time franchise chart behind his online colleague Alexander Ovechkin. Bäckström won the Stanley Cup with the Capitals in 2018 against the Vegas Golden Knights.
