Oksana Petrovna Grigorieva is a Russian singer, songwriter and pianist. She studied music in Moscow and finished her course at the conservatory in Kazan, before moving to London. After studying music at the Royal Academy of Music, she moved to the United States, living in New York and Los Angeles, California. She teaches music in the United States and has patented music notation techniques for children. Grigorieva gained attention as a musician in 2006, after the song she wrote, "Un día llegará", rose to fame on Josh Groban's album Awake. In 2009, Grigorieva's Beautiful Heartache album was released; Actor and director Mel Gibson, who has had an affair with her and has a child, is the executive producer. The following year the couple largely separated, which ultimately led to severe public prosecution.
