About Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Former forward who played for Manchester United from 1996 to 2007, then retired to coach in its youth system. He was appointed manager of Manchester United in 2019.
Ole Gunnar Solskjær KSO is a former Norwegian professional soccer player and current manager of Premier League club Manchester United. Before coming to England, Solskjær played for Norwegian clubs Clausenengen and Molde. He joined Manchester United in 1996 for a transfer fee of £ 1.5 million. Dubbed the 'killer with a baby face', he played 366 times for United and scored 126 goals in a successful season for the club. He is considered "super under" thanks to his talent to enter the field from the bench of the substitutes to score late goals. In extra time at the end of the 1999 UEFA Champions League final, he netted the decisive goal in the final game against Bayern Munich, giving Manchester United a 1-0 lead as the match turned 90 minutes and won Three for United. In 2007, Solskjær announced his retirement from football after failing to recover from a serious knee injury. Solskjær remains at Manchester United in a coaching role as well as ambassador.
