Omar Alfredo Rodríguez-López is an American guitarist, musician, producer and filmmaker. He was known as the guitarist and leader of the Mars Volta band from 2001 until their split in 2012, and as a guitarist for the alternative rock groups At the Drive-In, Antemasque and Bosnian Rainbows. He is also the bassist for voice group De Facto. He embarked on a solo career, both in studio and in concert, often referred to as experimental, pioneering and / or progressive.
