About Oscar Robertson
The first player in NBA history to average a triple-double in a single season, and a Hall of Fame point guard. He competed in 12 All-Star games, was named NBA MVP with the Cincinnati Royals in 1964, and won the NBA Championship with the Milwaukee Bucks in 1971.
Oscar Palmer Robertson, nicknamed "the Big O", is a former American professional basketball player who played for the Cincinnati Royals and Milwaukee Bucks in the National Basketball Association. Robertson played the points defense and was 12 times an All-Star member, 11 times a member of the All-NBA team and once winning an MVP award in 14 seasons. In 1962, he became the first player in NBA history to score an average of three times per season. During the 1970-71 NBA season, he was the key player on the team that brought the Bucks their only NBA title to date. His competitive career, especially in high school and college, has been hampered by racism. Robertson has twice been honored at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, nominated in 1980 for his personal career and in 2010 as a member of the US Men's Olympic Basketball Team. 1960 and President of the National Basketball Players Association. He was also voted one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history in 1996
