About Pandelela Rinong

Diving champion who made history as the first Malaysian woman to win an Olympic medal. From 2007 through 2013, she dominated the Southeast Asian Games, earning five gold medals.

Pandelela Rinong Pamg, is a Malaysian diver. She is a twice Olympic athlete and has won a total of five world championship medals. Pandelela represented Malaysia at the 2008 Summer Olympics, where she was ranked 27th on a 10m podium. She won the gold medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. She was selected as Malaysia's flag bearer at the 2012 Summer Olympics. She went on to win the bronze medal in the 10m, becoming a woman. . The first Malaysian athlete to win an Olympic medal, as well as the first to participate in a sport other than badminton. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, she won a silver medal in the 10m synchronized with Cheong Jun Hoong.
