Paolo Di Canio is an Italian football manager and former professional footballer. During his playing career, he made over 500 league appearances and scored over a hundred goals as a striker. He mostly plays in a deep forward position, but he can also play in an attacking midfielder or a winger. A talented but controversial footballer, Di Canio is known for his technical skills as well as his erratic personality. Di Canio started his career in Italian Serie A, playing for Lazio, Juventus, Napoli and Milan, before making a brief stint with Scottish club Celtic. He then spent seven years in the Premier League with Sheffield Wednesday, West Ham United and Charlton Athletic. He returned to Italy in 2004, playing for Lazio and Cisco Roma before retiring in 2008
