Paula Vogel is an American playwright who received the 1998 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for the play How I Learned to Drive. A longtime professor, Vogel spent most of her academic career - from 1984 to 2008 - at Brown University, where she was Adele Kellenberg Seaver Professor of Creative Writing, overseeing the Youth Writing program and helping to establish the Brown / Trinity Rep Consortium. From 2008 to 2012, Vogel was Professor of Drama Eugene O'Neill and Head of Department at the Yale School of Drama, as well as Writer at Residence at the Yale Drama Theater.
