Pauline Collins is an English actress who first rose to fame for the role of Sarah Moffat in Upstairs, Downstairs and its spin-off, Thomas & Sarah. In 1992, she published her autobiography, titled Letter to Louise. Collins starred in the play Shirley Valentine for which she won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress and the Tony Award for Best Actress in a play. She reprized the role in the 1989 film adaptation of the play, won the BAFTA Award for Best Actress and received an Oscar nomination for Best Actress. She also appeared in the TV dramas Forever Green and The Ambassador. His other films include City of Joy, Paradise Road, Albert Nobbs, Quartet, and The Time of their Lives.
