Peter James Crouch is a former English professional footballer who used to play as a striker. He made 42 appearances for England from 2005 to 2010, scored 22 goals for his country during that time and appeared in two FIFA World Cup tournaments. He is one of 29 players to score 100 or more goals in the Premier League and holds the record for the most goals scored in Premier League history. Crouch started his career as an intern at Tottenham Hotspur. He was unable to play for Spurs and after being loaned to Dulwich Hamlet and Swedish club IFK Hässleholm he joined Queens Park Rangers. After relegation from QPR at the end of the 2000-01 season, Portsmouth bought him under a £ 1.5million transfer deal. He had a good first season at Fratton Park, and after scoring 19 goals for the club he joined Aston Villa in March 2002 for £ 5million.
