Peter Hook and the Light bassist, vocalist, and DJ who was a co-founder of the pioneering rock band Joy Division and fronts the band Peter Hook and the Light.
Peter Hook is an English singer, songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist and record producer. He is best known as the bassist and co-founder of British rock groups Joy Division and New Order. Hook often uses bass as the main instrument, playing tunes on high strings with a characteristic heavy chorus effect. In New Order, it will do this, leaving the actual basslines to the keyboard or the sequence set. Hook formed the group which later became the Joy Division with Bernard Sumner in 1976. After the death of singer Ian Curtis in 1980, the group was reorganized into New Order and Hook played bass with them until 2007. Hook recorded one album with Revenge, two albums with Monaco and one album with Freebass, as bassist, keyboardist and vocalist. He is currently the lead singer and bassist for Peter Hook and the Light.
