Peter Gardner Ostrum is an American veterinarian and former child actor whose only film role was Charlie Bucket in the 1971 film Willy Wonka & Chocolate Factory. Talented agents selected for Willy Wonka. Although he enjoyed the experience of filming this film, he decided not to sign a contract to make three films at the end. After abandoning her film and theatrical career, Ostrum reluctantly spoke of her sole lead role. In 1990, he began to have an annual tradition of talking with students about the film and it became a topic of interest again when the 2005 film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory hit theaters. Ostrum became interested in horses upon returning from Willy Wonka's shooting and was particularly affected by the veterinarian who took care of them.
