Peter Frederick Weller is an American film and theater actor, television director and art historian. Weller has appeared in more than 70 movies and TV series, including RoboCop and its sequel RoboCop 2, in which he played the theme character, The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension and Star Trek Into Darkness. He has also appeared in films such as Woody Allen's Mighty Aphrodite, The New Age, produced by Oliver Stone and David Cronenberg adapted from William Burroughs' novel Naked Lunch. In addition to a Saturn Award nomination for his role in RoboCop, Weller received an Oscar nomination for the 1993 short film Partners, in which he also starred. On television, he hosted Engineering an Empire on History Channel from 2005 to 2007 .
