Phillip Martin Simms is a former American football defenseman who spent his entire 15-year professional career playing for the New York Giants of the National Football Federation. He is currently a sports broadcaster for the CBS network. After playing college football at Morehead State University, Simms was included in the first round by the New York Giants of the National Football Federation, with number seven selected overall in the NFL Draft in 1979. Simms was named Super Bowl XXI's MVP, having led the Giants to a 39-20 victory over the Denver Broncos and set a record for the highest percentage of wins in a Super Bowl match, completing 22 assists over 25 , a record still exists. . He was also named for the Pro Bowl for his performances during the 1985 and 1993 seasons
