Sir Philip Pullman, CBE, FRSL is an English author of bestsellers, including His Dark Material trilogy and a fictional biography of Jesus, The Kind Man, and Jesus. -su. In 2008, The Times named Pullman as one of "50 greatest British writers since 1945". In a 2004 poll by BBC, he was named the 11th most influential person in British culture. He has been knighted in the New Year 2019 title for his dedication to literature. Northern Lights, the first volume of his Dark Papers, won the 1995 Carnegie Medal from the Library Association as the best English children's book of the year. On his 70th birthday, he was named to the top 10 by an editorial board that voted publicly for the most beloved work of all time. It won shortlisted public votes and was named the “Carnegie of Carnegies” of all time in June 2007. It was filmed under the book title in America, The Golden Compass.
