This R&B and hip hop singer and music producer was named Songwriter and Producer of the Year at the Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) Annual Pop Awards in 2008 and 2009 for his work with Nelly, Rihanna, and Limp Bizkit.
Jamal Fincher Jones, known by his stage name Polow da Don, is an American record producer, songwriter and rapper. Jones has produced several singles for countless artists, including "Anaconda" by Nicki Minaj, "Love In This Club" by Usher, "Buttons" by The Pussycat Dolls, "MILF $" by Fergie, "Baby By Me" by 50 Cent, "Throw Some D's" by Rich Boy and "John" by Lil Wayne, among others. Jones left college to pursue a career as a rapper with his band Jim Crow. The group signed with Sony Music Entertainment in 1999, where they released two albums - Crow's Nest and Right Quick - before being scrapped. Although disappointed, Jones formed a southern hip hop group with Bubba Sparxxx, Sean P, Pastor Troy, G Rock and Timbaland. However, they went their separate ways without any release. Jones started making beats around 2001. His first beat hit the hands of Interscope Records president Jimmy Iovine.
