Rosemary Elizabeth "Posy" Simmonds MBE is an English newspaper cartoonist, writer and illustrator of children's books and graphic novels. She is best known for her long relationship with The Guardian, where she designed the Gemma Bovery series and Tamara Drewe, both of which were later published in book form. His style of writing gently satirizes the British middle class and especially those with literary tendencies. The two published books feature a "doomed heroine," in the style of the 18th and 19th century Gothic romance that they often allude, but with a hint of irony and modernism.
