He began his career as a speciality trainer-instructor in karate at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Culture and Sport's faculty of martial arts. In 2007, he earned a degree in Martial Arts Techniques. He served in the armed forces in the area of the Republic's Aghjabadi District from 2007 to 2008. As a promising athlete, he was later sent to the Ministry of Defense's Central Sports Club.
