Actor who rose to prominence after playing Govind in the critically and commercially successful film Kai Po Che! (2013). He has gone on to earn acclaim for his roles in films like Shahid (2013), Aligarh (2016) and Newton (2017).
Raj Kumar Yadav, known professionally as Rajkummar Rao, is an Indian film actor known through Hindi films. He has received a number of awards, including a National Film Award, three Filmfare Awards, and an Asia Pacific Screen award. Rao graduated from Delhi University and studied theater at the Indian Academy of Film and Television. He then moved to Mumbai and premiered the film with Dibakar Banerjee's Love Sex Aur Dhokha. After several supporting roles in films like Gangs of Wasseypur - Part 2 and Talaash: The Answer Lies Within, his foray into the drama Kai Po Che! in 2013. He became known for his role as lawyer Shahid Azmi in Hansal Mehta's critically acclaimed biography Shahid, for which he received the National Cinema Award for Leading Actor Best Performance and Filmfare Critic Award for Best Actor. Rao continued to appear in the popular romantic comedy series Queen, Aligarh and Trapped.
