Ralph Nader is an American political activist, author, speaker and lawyer. He is known for his involvement in consumer protection, environmental protection and government reform activities. The son of Lebanese immigrants to the United States, Nader studied at Princeton University and Harvard Law School. It first rose to prominence in 1965 with the publication of the best-selling book Unsafe at all speeds, a highly influential review of the safety records of American automakers. After publishing his book Unsafe at all speeds, Nader led a group of volunteer law students - dubbed the "Nader's Raiders" - in an investigation by the Inter-Trade Commission. state, which led directly to the overhaul and overhaul of that organ. In the 1970s, Nader used his growing popularity to form a number of advocacy and follow-up groups, including the Public Interest Research Group, the Center for Automotive Safety and Citizenship.
