Ramires Santos do Nascimento, known as Ramires, is a Brazilian professional footballer. Midfielder, he is comfortable playing in the center or in the right midfield. He often plays as a box-to-box midfielder due to his energy in helping defensive and attacking play. Ramires began his career playing for the Royal Sports Club, in Barra do Piraí, 114 kilometers northwest of Rio de Janeiro. In 2005 he signed with Joinville, before joining Cruzeiro, whom he spent more than two seasons, appearing in 61 league appearances and scoring 10 goals. In 2009, Ramires moved to Portugal and signed with Benfica. He spent a season with Benfica where he helped them win the Primeira Liga and the Taça da Liga. Then he joined English club Chelsea in the summer of 2010 and won all the major national and European tournaments with them. In January 2016, Ramires signed with Jiangsu Suning for £ 25million.
