Raveena Tandon is an Indian actress, model and producer. Daughter of director Ravi Tandon, she was born and raised in Mumbai. She began her career in modeling and then made her debut in the action film Patthar Ke Phool, which won her the New Faces of the Year award. In 1994, Tandon starred in five blockbuster movies, including the two highest-grossing films, the action music film Dilwale and Mohra. Her performance in the box office hit Laadla earned her a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress. His other notable film of the year was the hit classic Andaz Apna Apna. These achievements have made Tandon the leading actress of Hindi cinema. During this time, Tandon got engaged to her regular co-star Akshay Kumar and stopped signing her acting contracts ahead of the impending wedding and turned down some popular movies and roles in the process.
